Hamilton Bohannon all'anagrafe Hamilton Frederick Bohannon nasce il 7 Marzo del 1942 a Newman in Georgia. Si diploma in musica alla fine degli anni 60 presso il "Clark College" di Atlanta, il suo strumento preferito è la batteria che in seguito influenzerà tutte le ritmiche delle sue produzioni discografiche. Nei primissimi anni 70 viene ingaggiato come batterista da Stevie Wonder, di conseguenza si trasferisce a Detroit dove presta la sua opera anche come direttore d'orchestra e arrangiatore per la Motown Records fino al 1972, anno in cui migra alla Brunswick Records etichetta discografica fondata nel lontano 1916 e che pubblicò opere di artisti del calibro di Louis Armstrong , Gene Chandler, The Chi-Lites, Jackie Wilson, Isaac Hayes, Young & Company, e tantissimi altri. Bohannon alla Brunswick Records perfeziona il sound unendo la sua particolare maestria ritmica di percussionista con giri di basso ipnotici e costanti, che influenzeranno tutte le sue produzioni future, nascono cosi i primi grandi successi come "South African Man", "Foot Stompin' Music", "Disco Stomp", e "Bohannon's Beat". Dopo la metà degli anni 70 si trasferisce alla Mercury Records, e nel 1978 sforna uno dei suoi più grandi successi "Let's Start The Dance" che entrò di prepotenza nella Top Ten dei dischi più venduti e ballati in America e nel mondo. Produsse con successo anche altri artisti, come Caroline Crawford la voce femminile più presente nelle produzioni di Bohammon, per lei scrisse anche gli unici 2 album della sua carriera da solista nel 1978 "My Name Is Caroline" che contiene la bellissima "Coming on Strong", e nel 1979 "Nice And Soulful". Hamilton Bohannon nel 1980 crea la "Phase II Records" che lasciò nel 1984 per trasferirsi alla MCA Records.

Questa Collection composta da 5 CD, è sicuramente la più completa raccolta di successi di Bohannon, e mi fregio di esserne il Selector oltre che al realizzatore di alcune versioni Sunny-Re-Work e Sunny-Re-Fix adattate per i Dj-Set. 63 tracce restaurate e digitalizzate, in pratica i brani più significativi della lunga carriera Di Bohannon, in tutte le versioni, infatti in questa Collection sono presenti le Original Edit, le Full Lenght Album, i 12''Inch Extended Mix, I Re-Edit, i Rare Remix e le attuali NU-Disco Version, ad opera di famosi Producer e Dj come Françoise Kevorkian, Jose Pascual, Steven Lemmens, Joe T Vannelli, Jonathan Fearing, Glen Meadows, Joe Neil, e per finire Steve Walsh & Nigel Wright per la realizzazione del Bohannon Megamix.
Questa Collection è disponibile anche in versione "Digital File" contenuta in una USB Drive Pen dove tutte le 63 Tracce sono presenti in formato File Wav, la Drave pen è alloggiata in un pratico MetalBox in alluminio satinato con la garfica della collection visibile dall'esteno. Hamilton Frederick Bohannon, è scomparso all'età di 78 anni il 24 Marzo 2020, e i suoi brani ancora adesso riempiono le Dance Floor dei Club di tutto il mondo, dove si suona la buona e ineguagliabile musica Disco Funk.
